Shantou Port Group
Shantou Port, on the coastline of east Guangdong Province, is one of the major coastal ports in China with shipping lines to 272 ports of 58 countries for import/export cargos in East of Guangdong Province, Southwest of a Fujian Provnice and South of Jiangxi Province. Shantou Port Group , a large grade-A enterprise, was converted from Shantou Port Authority in 1999. Its business covers loading/unloading, warehousing, transshipment, tally of containers, coal, mines, cereals and bulk, shipping and cargo agency，supply of oil and water for ships, repair and maintain for ships, dredging, etc. Shantou Port Group has five port area, which are Zhuchi, Guang’ao, Mashan,Queshi and the old port area. There are total 28 operational berths with a capacity of 14.17 million tons, among which 11 are deep water berths of over 10,000 tons. And port equipment of yards, warehouses, communication and supporting facilities are comprehensive. The phare 1 of Guang’ao Project are building two multi-functional berths of 50,000 tons with 15 m of water depth in front of piers，2 shore container cranes and other facilities, which will be developed with increased capacity of 1.5 million tons. In 2005, cargo throughput met 15.08 million tons, and container throughput met 341000 TEUs at Shantou Port Group.
