Nantong Port |
The Port of Nantong, situated on
the north bank of the lower Yangtze River and close to
the estuary of the Yangtze River, is one of the import
and export hub ports in China. Now the port has 26
productive berths, among which 9 berths are for vessels
of over 10,000 dwt. The annual throughput was 16.09
million tons in 1995.
The second -phase works in Langshan port area built
during the Eighth Five-Year Plan period were completed
and inspected and accepted by the State on October
28,1993, which include one bulk cargo berth for vessel
of 25,000 dwt, two multi-purpose berths for vessels of
13,000 dwt, four medium sized berths as well as a large
river basin along the Yangtze River. The designed
annual throughput capacity of the Project is 8.40
million tons.
