Yantian Port |
The Port of
Yantian, situated in the east of Shenzhen, borders on
Shatoujiao to the west and Da Meisha and Xiao Mejsha to
the east, facing Kowloon Peninsula of Hongkong across the
sea. Such a nice location provides a convenient
transportation both by land and by sea. Starting out from
the Port, it is 10 Km to downtown Shenzhen, 13 Km to
Fenling in Hongkong; 72 km to Huizhou and 180 km to
Guangzhou. If going by sea, it is 53 nautical miles to
Victoria Harbor in Hongkong. The Port has a wide water
area, calm enough to serve as a nice natural shelter for
ships and deep enough to berth large vessels. What's more,
there is hardly any situation within the Bay. Richly
endowed by the nature, Yantian Port is one of the natural
ports in China.
The port of Yantian is
designed to be a comprehensive port, mainly engaged in
international transshipment of containers as well as bulk
and general cargo. During the eighth Five-Year Plan period,
six berths were completed (including four multi-use berths
of 1000, 3000, 10,000 and 25,000 tons and two container
berths of 50,000 tons each); Currently the port is capable
of handling 5.25 million tons per year
