A wide range of arts and crafts are available in Delhi, Connaught Place, Chandni Chowk and Karol Bagh, Lajpat Nagar, South Extension, Greater Kailash, Kamla Nagar and Sunder Nagar are the main shopping centres. However, in every residential area, markets are found. Shopping hours are usually 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Connaught place is closed on Sunday, Defence Colony Market, South Extension and Sarojini Nagar on Monday and Greater Kailash, Vasant Vihar and Hauz Khas on Tuesday.

The Central Cottage Industries Emporium on Janpath is a shoppers paradise. It offers a gamut of handsome articles to furnishings to readymades. Silks are galore. Some of the furniture items are better buys. The cottage has a little bookshop, an artgallery, a flower shop and a coffee shop. Tickets for cultural happenings in the city can also be purchased here.

The string of emporium on Baba Kharak Singh Marg are worth a visit. Every state has its representative items in its emporium. Metalwork in brass and copper, Delhi blue pottery are all found here.

Dariba Kalan, a narrow lane branching Chandni Chowk, is still the home of Delhi's best Silver and goldmiths.

A visit to Sunder Nagar for curious can be rewarding Delhi's latest attraction is the Hauz Khas Village, with rows of boutiques, curio shops - even if one finds prices some what high. It is worth one's while to go there and experience this little village come alive.

Karol Bagh is a big & busy commercial shopping complex famous for readymade garments, shops, jewellery, sarees, suits, dupttas, carpets and other household family fancy items. Lajpat Nagar, Greater Kailash & South Extension are ideal shopping centres for Jewellery, Ready-made Garments, Carpet & other goods also.
