| LOCAL TRANSPORT
Yellow top taxis are easily available, both at
stands, near commercial and residential areas and can
be stopped on the roads, Pay by the meter.
Scooter rickshaws are available and are more
economical, at roughly half of taxi rates. These too
are metered.
Also available are 4-seater rickshaws for
point-to-point travel only on fixed charges. Cycle
rickshaws and tongas are available in the old city.
The city bus service run by DTC connects all
important points in the city. Tickets are in
denominations of Rs. 2, 4, 6, & Rs. 8. Use only in
non peak hours & DTC Delhi Darshan Rs. 50.
Cars on hire are available from Hertz and
Budget. Chauffeur driven cars can be hired from travel
agents or from your hotel itself.
