The
State Government has set up Maharashtra State
Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) in August
1996 to provide better transport infrastructure
by generating additional resources, including
private sector participation.
Objectives of MSRDC
*
To identify requirements of transport
infrastructure within the state.
*
To conduct necessary Technical, Economical and
Financial Studies for the identified transport
infrastructure projects.
*
To generate resources required for
implementation of the projects.
*
To encourage private sector participation in
transport infrastructure.
The 50 Flyovers
50
flyovers on 3 expressways viz. Sion-Panvel
Expressway, Eastern Express Highway and Western
Express Highway and some major roads in Mumbai
city. The total cost of the flyovers is
estimated at Rs. 15500 million.
Construction of Road
over Bridges in Maharashtra
To
improve the traffic movement in Mumbai, it has
been decided to construct 29 Road over Bridges (ROBs)
in different parts of Maharashtra through IRCON. |
