State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), a Government
of Maharashtra organisation has planned this Intelligent
Super Highway between Mumbai and Pune. This is a unique
expressway withthe most advanced electronic surveillance
system, which will make it one of the safest raods in
the world. People trravelling on this expressway will be
insured. There will also be Hospitals, Rescue Centres,
Hotels, Motels, Recreation Points, Petrol Pumps,
Housing, Shops, Pubs and so on......
Optic Fibre Cables
DUCTING FOR TELECOMMUNICATION
SYSTEM ALONG MUMBAI-PUNE EXPRESSWAY
Maharashtra
State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has decided
to lay six ducts for fibre optics along the Mumbai-Pune
Expressway for various prospective users. These High
Density Polymer ducts have silica coating from inside to
make them almost frictionless. Each duct has an inner
diameter of 32 mm and can accomodate one cable of fibre
optic capable of having more than 10,000 channels. Along
the road, joining chambers will be provided at every 2km
distance for splicing of two cables.
These
ducts would be given on lease to various users for
laying their own fibre optics. Agencies like Hughes
Ispat, AT&T etc., are potential users for the same.
Availability of such ducts will avoid frequent digging
of roads for laying telecom cables and also help in
considerably reducing cable laying time. This will
accelerate the development of the telecom system in this
area.
This
project is the first of its kind in this country in that
a road development agency is also laying telecom ducts
for various prospective users. |
